Daniel Shaykevich

Daniel Shaykevich is a principal and senior portfolio manager in Vanguard Active Taxable Fixed Income Group. In addition to his role as a lead portfolio manager for Vanguard's award-winning emerging market bond funds, he is also a portfolio manager on Vanguard's active multi-sector and credit funds and the head of Multi-Sector Strategy on Vanguard’s Active Taxable Strategy Committee. During his time at Vanguard, Mr. Shaykevich has been instrumental in updating and expanding Vanguard's active taxable fund lineup complementing the firm’s well known index offerings.
Prior to joining Vanguard, Mr. Shaykevich was a portfolio manager at BlackRock, managing emerging market debt in dedicated, cross-over, and levered strategies, having initially worked several years as a risk manager focusing on fixed income hedge funds and other alternative strategies. Informed by his alternatives and risk management backgrounds, he has developed and applied an investment style focused on maximizing relative value opportunities while managing downside tail risk.
Mr. Shaykevich earned a B.S. in computer science and economics from Carnegie Mellon University.
Mauro Favini

Mauro Favini is a senior portfolio manager on the Emerging Markets and Sovereign Debt Team in Vanguard Fixed Income Group. His focus is in sovereign and corporate credit, local markets, and currencies across global emerging markets for Vanguard’s actively managed fixed income portfolios.
Mr. Favini joined Vanguard in June 2017. With more than seventeen years of experience in emerging markets, he contributes to the company’s solid investing and trading skills and key relationships. Prior to joining Vanguard, he was a portfolio manager at Marathon Asset Management, where he focused on both absolute return and long-only strategies. Mr. Favini earned a B.A. in economics from Hunter College of the City University of New York, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
