Ms. Crawford is a Specialist Portfolio Manager in the Fixed Income group and is the Head of Global Securitized. Prior to returning to TCW’s Los Angeles headquarters in 2020, Ms. Crawford spent two years based in TCW’s London office as a research analyst covering Global Securitized Products. Before joining TCW as a CMBS Trader in 2015, Ms. Crawford was a Portfolio Analyst covering securitized products and commercial and residential mortgage REIT equities at EJF Capital LLC (“EJF”), a $9.5bn multi-strategy alternative asset manager in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to joining EJF, Ms. Crawford was an Associate in the Securitized Products division at Credit Suisse. She started in Institutional Sales covering ABS, MBS, and CMBS investors before moving to Asset Finance, where she focused on residential mortgage banking and securitization. Ms. Crawford holds a BA in Political Science and International Studies from Yale University.

Mr. Whalen is Co-Chief Investment Officer and a Generalist Portfolio Manager in TCW’s Fixed Income Group, a team that oversees over $180 billion in fixed income assets including the over $60 billion MetWest Total Return Bond Fund, one of the largest actively managed bond funds in the world. Prior to joining TCW, Mr. Whalen was a Partner at Metropolitan West Asset Management and Co-head of its Securitized Products division. Prior to joining MetWest in 2004, he was a Director in the Fixed Income department at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. Previously, he was a Vice President at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Whalen earned a BA in Economics from Yale University. He is a CFA charterholder.

Mr. Van Gelderen is a Specialist Portfolio Manager in the Fixed Income group and is Co-Head of Global Securitized. Most recently, he was Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of Securitized Markets at American Century Investments, where he was responsible for all Core, Core Plus, Income and Government mortgage funds and ETFs. Within Securitized Markets, he oversaw a broad range of products across credit sub-sectors. Previously, Mr. Van Gelderen was Co-Head of Guggenheim Partners’ $38 billion Structured Credit investment desk for eight years, where he guided investment strategy and oversaw investment sourcing, analysis, and trade execution. Prior to that, he also served as a Senior Trader and Portfolio Manager for Structured Products at Stark Investments and Vice President of Whole Loan Transaction Management at Countrywide Securities Corporation. He started his career with Thelen Reid & Priest LLP where he was an Associate for the Business and Finance Department. Mr. Van Gelderen holds a BA in English from Duke University and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
