Mr. Monroe is a Portfolio Manager in the Small Cap Equities group. He is responsible for the overall strategy and positioning of Putnam`s small-cap growth strategy. He joined Putnam in 2012 and has been in the investment industry since 1996. Previously at Putnam, Mr. Monroe was an Analyst in the Equity Research group. He was responsible for conducting fundamental analysis and valuation of small- and mid-cap companies in the industrials sector and making buy/sell recommendations. Prior to joining Putnam, Mr. Monroe was a Senior Investment Analyst at Federated Investors from 2008 to 2012, an Investment Analyst at American Century Investment Management from 2002 to 2008, an Interdepartmental Analyst at Ariel Capital Management from 1999 to 2000, an Investment Analyst at Mercer Investment Consulting from 1997 to 1999, and a Fund Accountant at Bisys Investment Services from 1996 to 1997. He earned an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. in Finance from Miami University.
