Jonathan Swaney

Jonathan Swaney was an employee of New York Life Investments from 1997-2009 and was responsible both for managing quantitative equity portfolios and performing research at New York Life Investments’ Equity Investors Group. Also within New York Life Investments, Mr. Swaney previously worked with the Investment Consulting Group and was a portfolio manager with the Quantitative Strategies unit. In 2009, Mr. Swaney joined Madison Square Investors LLC, an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of New York Life. While at Madison Square Investors LLC, Mr. Swaney was responsible both for managing quantitative equity portfolios and performing research. In January 2011, Mr. Swaney re-joined New York Life Investments as part of the Investment Consulting Group. Mr. Swaney began his career in financil services working on the fixed income desk at the Vanguard Group after earned his B.A. in Political Science from The College of William & Mary in 1991. He also spent several years with a hedge fund of funds before coming to New York Life Investments in 1997.

Adam H. Illfelder, CFA, is Senior Managing Director and Portfolio Manager and joined Wellington in 2005. He has been involved in portfolio management for the equity portion of the Fund since 2017 and has been involved in securities analysis for the Fund since 2008. He has 23 years of investment management experience. Mr. Illfelder earned his MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg, 2001) and his BS in economics from the University of Pennsylvania (1997). Additionally, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Ms. George has managed MainStay WMC Value Fund since February 2024. She is Managing Director and Equity Research Analyst and joined Wellington in 2017. Ms. George has been in the investment management industry since 2004. She earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in economics, with honors, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Gill has managed the MainStay WMC Value Fund since February 2024. He joined Wellington in 2019 and is currently a Managing Director and Equity Research Analyst. Prior to joining Wellington, he worked as a research analyst at Capital Group from 2013 to 2018. Mr. Gill earned his MSc in accounting and BBA in finance and investments, summa cum laude, from Baruch College of the City University of New York. Additionally, Mr. Gill holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA® Institute.

Migene Kim, CFA is the Head of Systematic Equity and a Portfolio Manager & Senior Analyst. Her responsibilities include portfolio management, investment research & strategy development. Migene joined the firm in 2005 as a PM. Previously, she spent 7 yrs as a quantitative analyst in INVESCO's Structured Products Group. She started her career as an Analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank in 1993. She received her BA in Mathematics, graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. Michael is Co-Head of the Global Fixed Income team and a Senior Portfolio Manager. Michael is responsible for managing all Multi-Sector and related strategies. Previously, Mike was Co-Head of MacKay’s Macro and Quantitative Solutions. Prior to joining MacKay Shields, Michael was the CEO of PhaseCapital, where he managed systematic macro and credit strategies. Prior to joining PhaseCapital, Michael was Chief Investment Officer for Quantitative Investment Strategies and Director of Fixed Income Absolute Return at AllianceBernstein where he managed multi-asset, multi-sector, global and credit fixed income, as well as stand-alone and overlay currency strategies. Prior to assuming this role, Michael was Global Director of Fixed Income Quantitative Research. Michael graduated with a B.S. from Northeastern University and a M.S. from New York University’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. He has been in the investment industry since 1990.
Lesya Paisley

Lesya Paisley, CFA is a Portfolio Manager on the Global Fixed Income team. She is responsible for managing Multi-Sector strategies at MacKay Shields. Prior to joining MacKay Shields, Lesya served as Investment Director and ESG Portfolio Manager, North America at Aberdeen Standard Investments. She was responsible for managing US dollar strategies including Credit, Corporates, and Core/Core+ strategies and was instrumental in the firm’s ESG policy and product development including Sustainable and Responsible Investment and Climate Transition Fund. Before Aberdeen, she worked at Deutsche Asset Management as a Credit Research Analyst. Combined, Lesya spent well over a decade in Credit Research covering a variety of sectors including Emerging Markets, High Yield, Investment Grade, and Municipals. Lesya is a CFA charterholder and earned a BSc degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce. She has been in the investment industry since 2003.
Neil Moriarty

Neil is Co-Head of the Global Fixed Income team and a Senior Portfolio Manager. Neil is responsible for managing all Multi-Sector and related strategies. Prior to joining MacKay Shields, he was with Aberdeen via the 2005 acquisition of Deutsche Asset Management's London and Philadelphia fixed income businesses. While at Aberdeen, his responsibilities included Head of US Core, Securitized Products and Co-Head of US Core Short Duration. Neil joined Deutsche in 2002 from Swath more/Cypress Capital Management where he worked in fixed income portfolio management. Previously, he worked for Chase Securities in fixed income trading and research. Prior to that, Neil worked for Paine Webber in fixed income trading and research. Neil graduated with a BA from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has been working in the investment industry since 1987.

Cameron is Head of Fundamental Research supporting the Global Fixed Income team. He is also a
Portfolio Manager responsible for the group’s portfolios across corporate investment grade, high yield and bank loan strategies. Cameron joined MacKay Shields in 2019 as a Senior Credit Analyst on the Global Fixed Income team covering the energy and utilities sectors. Most recently, he was a Senior Credit Analyst at Apex Credit Partners LLC. Earlier in his career, Cameron held credit analyst roles at MetLife Investments and Deutsche Bank Securities. He has a BA in Economics from Colgate University, an MBA from Cornell University and is a CFA charterholder. Cameron has been in the financial services industry since 2004.
Theodore Aronson

In 1984, Ted Aronson founded AJO, an institutional investment manager which reached $30 billion under management. Ted joined Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1974 while still a graduate student. He was a founding member of the Quantitative Equities Group, which provided innovative practical applications of Modern Portfolio Theory and quantitative portfolio management. This group managed the Revere Fund, the first actively managed fund registered with the SEC to employ Modern Portfolio Theory. Prior to forming AJO, Ted founded Addison Capital Management. Ted was past chairman of the CFA Institute (formerly the Association for Investment Management & Research) and prior chairman and current trustee of its Research Foundation. He chaired AIMR’s Trade Management Guidelines Task Force, and is both a CFA charterholder and a Chartered Investment Counselor. Ted serves on the New Jersey State Investment Council at the appointment of Governor Phil Murphy, and is also a trustee of Spelman College and chair of its investment committee. He was a Lecturer in Finance at The Wharton School and is a frequent speaker on Wall Street issues, especially innovations in methods to minimize transaction costs and align fees with performance.
