Aashh is a portfolio manager for Nuveen’s global fixed income and a member of the securitized sector team, specializing in asset-backed securities. He manages portfolios across a variety of asset-backed transaction (ABS) types, including Consumer ABS, Commercial ABS, CDOs/CLOs, and insurance-linked securities as well as other esoteric securitizations. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, he held a variety of analyst roles in the telecom industry. Aashh graduated with a B.S. in Economics and International Business from Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the CFA® Institute and a board member of the Structured Finance Industry Group.

Karina Bubeck oversees global sovereign and emerging markets research for Nuveen’s global fixed income team and is a member of the emerging and non-U.S. developed markets fixed income team. Her research responsibilities include South American corporate issuers across financials, pulp and paper, telecom and media, oil and gas, utilities and other industries. Karina is also a co-portfolio manager for several of Nuveen’s emerging markets debt strategies. In her prior role, she covered EMEA corporates as well as Mexico, Central America and Caribbean sovereign and corporate issuers. She has also served as a credit analyst on the domestic private placement team and the private equity team. Before joining the firm in 2003, Karina worked at BBVA, S.A., a multinational financial services organization, where she directed the bank’s investor relations efforts in the U.S. She also worked at Salomon Smith Barney in the equity research group. Karina entered the investment industry in 1999 and is a regular panelist for emerging market investing events, including Fitch, J.P. Morgan, and EMTA conferences. Karina graduated with a B.B.A. in International Business from Baruch College and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She is a member of the CFA Institute, the New York Society of Securities Analysts and holds the CFA designation.

Brenda is a portfolio manager for Nuveen’s global fixed income team and a member of the preferred securities sector team. She is the lead manager for Nuveen’s preferred and income-focused closed-end funds and portfolio manager of the Preferred Securities and Income strategy. Brenda is also co-manager for the Real Asset Income strategy since 2015, which invests in income generating debt and equity securities from both the real estate and infrastructure segments, and in 2020 she became co-manager of the Credit Income strategy. Brenda joined the preferred securities sector team in 2011.

James S. Kim, Managing Director, is a portfolio manager for Nuveen’s leveraged finance team with a focus on the management of high yield strategies. Previously, he served as co-head of global fixed income research and head of the leveraged finance research team. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, he was an associate at Greywolf Capital Management and an analyst at Watershed Asset Management. He began his career at Goldman Sachs in 2000.
