John Miller is head and chief investment officer of the Municipal Credit team. Prior to joining First Eagle in January 2024, John was head of municipals at Nuveen and portfolio manager for a number of its municipal bond portfolios. He joined Nuveen in 1996 as a municipal credit analyst and began his career in financial services in 1993 at a private account management firm. John earned a BA in economics and political science from Duke University, an MA in economics from Northwestern University and an MBA in finance with honors from the University of Chicago. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.
