Christopher Bliss is a Managing Director and Head of Passive Equity Strategies for Schwab Asset Management. Mr. Bliss is responsible for overseeing the investment process, portfolio management of investment strategies for passive equity Schwab Funds® and Schwab ETFsTM, and Schwab Personalized Indexing™ separately managed accounts. Before joining Schwab in 2016, Mr. Bliss spent 12 years at Blackrock (formerly Barclays Global Investors) managing and leading institutional index teams, most recently as a managing director and the head of the Americas institutional index team. In this role, Mr. Bliss was responsible for overseeing a team of portfolio managers managing domestic, developed international and emerging markets index strategies. Prior to Blackrock, he worked as an equity analyst and portfolio manager for Harris Bretall and before that, as a research analyst for JP Morgan. Mr. Bliss earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Northern Illinois University. He is a CFA® charterholder.

David Rios, Portfolio Manager, has joined Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. in 2008 and became a Portfolio Manager in September 2014. Prior to this role, Mr. Rios served as an Associate Portfolio Manager on the Passive Equity Strategies team for four years. His first role with CSIM was as a trade operation specialist. He also previously worked as a senior fund accountant at Investors Bank & Trust (subsequently acquired by State Street Corporation).
